During the event organized by the Pesaro Camper Club in Monte Grimano Terme, the ceremony took place to award the prestigious “Comune Amico del Turismo Itinerante” (CATI) recognition, one of the most important projects promoted by the Unione Club Amici, a federation that includes over 125 associations across Italy.
Before the CATI plaque was awarded, the new functional camper area on Via Pascoli was inaugurated. About 50 campers were present, along with Mayor Elia Rossi, members of the Municipal Council and local councilors, representatives of the Pro Loco, several mayors and councilors from neighboring municipalities, local Carabinieri and Forestry Carabinieri representatives, the area designer, the owner of the company that carried out the work, the national project manager Gabriele Gattafoni, the Central-East Area President Maria Pepi, and the President of the Pesaro Camper Club, Giuliano Giommi.
Mayor Elia Rossi, while thanking the campers and all the guests, emphasized the importance of itinerant tourism as a key economic resource for small villages. Maria Pepi, after presenting the activities and initiatives of the national federation in support of campers, thanked the Municipal Administration for joining the project, the organizers of the event, and the citizens for their hospitality, and read the greeting and thank-you message from the National President of the Unione Club Amici, Ivan Perriera, delivering to the Mayor the certificate of membership in the national circuit “Comune Amico del Turismo Itinerante.”
Giuliano Giommi, President of Pesaro Camper Club, presented the Mayor with the CATI plaque to be placed at the entrance of the village. Gabriele Gattafoni highlighted that this form of tourism is the only one not dependent on seasonality and aligns with the expectations of small villages, noting that the recognition awarded to the municipality is not just a sign, but a gesture of welcome to the world of “Living While Traveling.”
By joining this circuit, the Municipality of Monte Grimano Terme will gain national promotional visibility, showcasing its historical, cultural, and gastronomic excellence at all relevant fairs across Italy.
