Ca’ Secco
Details
Leaving behind the ancient mills along the Conca River, one reaches Ca’ Secco, a village that still keeps the farming tradition alive. Situated at about 420 meters above sea level, it offers a panoramic view of the entire Conca Valley and the village of Monte Grimano Terme.
Although entirely linked to the agricultural life of the area, Ca’ Secco is still fairly inhabited today. The style of the houses, even those that have been renovated, retains a rustic charm. The paved road that ends in the village makes it easy for visitors curious to explore this small settlement. The locals never fail to greet sports enthusiasts and visitors. The water fountain, even on hot summer afternoons, is always open and available for a short and refreshing break.
From the remaining stone houses, one can still see the ancient limestone cladding, which testifies to the long history of this hamlet. At the highest point of the village stands the local chapel, where residents once attended mass.
